As has been the case lately we got ourselves out of bed around 3:30am and were on the road at 4:30am after enjoying our morning coffee and other morning prep. This is another, now favorite, hike out of East Portal (Moffat Tunnel Parking). We have only done this hike once previously. That time we scrambled up the south face of the last hill to the upper lake, but this time we went around to the east side which offers a spectacular hike with waterfalls, flowers and a fairly easy to follow trail.
